Adiboo and Pazirals Secret PS1 Review

Adiboo and Pazirals Secret is a 3D action adventure platformer game that saw a release on the PlayStation in 2003 which follows the role of adiboo on a quest to rescue citizens of his native Island to stop a threat from a mysterious leader known as paziral, where his intentions are to literally take over the entire Island.

So the game has you playing across five different types of levels from within various different environments from volcanoes, lagoons, forests, temples and even on board like a submarine.

And each of the stages, there's 12 levels in total but each of the stages is divided in between different types of gameplay styles from platforming that uses side scrolling, almost 2.5D perspective that moves from left to right but uses 3D visuals with various platforming elements where you have to acquire collectibles and different items that you can use later on in the game that'll help you in future levels that also moves into like racing style stages where you have to use vehicles in order to traverse different types of terrain and achieve collectibles while you progress to the end point of each level and then usually at the end you're always fight like a boss where you have to like shoot them a certain number of times with a certain weapon that you have in order to again progress to the next stage.

Now this is more focused on kids and children per say and while the PlayStation does have many different types of styles of platform games, many of which are very iconic but yet some of which that are known literally for their level of difficulty because some of the games on the PlayStation are extremely difficult whereas this game is more focused towards the younger generation and as a result it definitely appeals to the dynamic but at the same time it's definitely reflective in its gameplay because this game while it does have some nice touches, it's a very very simple game to play like there's no airs and graces about it.

It's a very simple experience.

You will have the game completed literally within about an hour once you find all of the items.

The longest part really that will take will be on the platforming sections as you'll be moving from left to right but then you also have like hidden secret areas to find new items and try and collect everything that is in each level.

Whereas likes of the boss encounters and the racing style levels will literally be over in one to two minutes tops.

You won't really take that long to finish it. It's not a very long game as such and while the game does have some premise of a story it is very simplistic in its nature, the whole experience ideally is just very very catered towards the younger generation as such and it's also reflective in the overall gameplay.

And even with reviews receiving mixed to average ratings across the board mainly due to the simplicity of the game as while it does have some nice touches and it's simplistic in its style on how it precedes itself, it doesn't really offer up much of a challenge.

More experienced game players even like myself will not find this much of a challenge at all.

But in saying that haven't spent time playing the game, yes it is very simplistic, it is more focused towards the younger generation but I personally found it to have definitely some unique charm to it. It's not the most fun game out there that should play, it's definitely not the most difficult if anything it's one of the easiest games I've played in a long time, but it just has a unique charm to it that you don't often get in games and if anything it was a nice kind of experience and relaxing experience to sit back and to play something that you could enjoy and just get into without the fear of having to try and figure things out or get frustrated with silly little instances or just traps or anything like that they can just frustrate the hell out of.

You you won't really have that in this game so for that reason alone it was quite a pleasurable experience just to play something that was a bit more entry level for once and just to kind of just take everything at face value and just play through it and enjoy it for what it was.

Now this game won't be for everybody that's perfectly to be honest most players out there will feel like this game game doesn't match up to their expectations and if I'll be honest it is an acquired taste, I'm just going to be truthful about that but it will appeal to a select few right now and if you do like platform games especially if you want something that's a bit more simplistic and that's much easier to play it compared to many other more difficult and more extreme platformers out there or even fast-paced games that are available.

This would be a good entry point into that genre so that you can build up your skills and then figure out what to do.

The graphics themselves, they're quirky and they do suit what the game is going for now they're not the most fantastic looking graphics in the world but it does suit the style that this game's going for.

Again the whole experience just presents a very unique charm and it really suits what's going on here but in reality you won't have long to finish the game once you get through it, it's one of those games that you probably won't play again in all respects of it so if it is something that you would be interested in you can get it's probably cheap online and it'd be good or worthwhile to add to your collection at least or maybe even your kids might like to play it, it probably would be suited more to them but for more experienced players you won't find an awful lot in here that you haven't already seen before.

But it still does have a unique charm to it, I think that's definitely its best characteristic for sure.

But it is what it is, it's a simplistic game it doesn't break new grounds it doesn't try to do anything that it shouldn't do it's just a simplistic platformer and it's just a nice refreshing take on a tried and tested method that' you will finish rather quickly and sometimes it's nice just to play games that are just simple with no stress or no kind of silly or stressful tactics in play.

You won't get that with this game at all so that is something that you would be interested in so you can have a go and see what you think for yourself.

But I'm sure there are people out there that have played this and do have enjoyed it even so much so that I even had a subscriber reach out to me and asked me to do a couple of videos on this so that's one of the reasons why I said I would give it a go but even a that for me personally because the PlayStation is my favorite console and truthfully I want to try and experience every game that the PlayStation provided regardless of whether it's good or bad there's a chance that I'm going to play it at some point.

Because I believe in just seeing games what they are and I know myself not all games are great and I have played a lot of very poor games on the PlayStation but with those experiences a lot can be taken out of them because even the worst games I've played there's always been something about them something unique or something quirky or charming that I could take away from it that I genuinely did like that I wouldn't have seen in other games so there is always that contrast and that dynamic to it.

Now not everybody will see it that way but I just like to be open-minded with these things and especially if you do enjoy playing video games, there's no harm in having a bit of fun of it regardless of how good or not so good the game is, it is what you make of it. If it is too frustrating if you find you just leave it alone and go on to something that is more appealing to your nature.

But this game is definitely more entry-level so nobody will really have much trouble with this game at all so whatever you decide that's your choice and I will leave that up to you.

But regardless I would love to know your thoughts of this game if you have played it yourself and if so do you enjoy these type of more quirkier or more entry-level style of platformers or games that were seen on the PlayStation or maybe not so much.
